Thanks great news. I called on Sunday as it was 2 weeks before our flight.
They told me they had a sent a letter to check the details of the person who countersigned the forms to check he OK to sign them (he has a MBE so fairly sure he is) and he also signed the other child’s with no issue and does them regularly for others.
I explained all this and they have passed it back to the examiner to be double checked and all the other information they requested and a email clearly stating my dissatisfaction.
Haven’t heard anything back as yet, but they told me Durham office would contact me, but I noticed on the website today the application processing part has now disappeared.
They said I could be waiting til 24-48 hours before we fly to receive it, but they haven’t confirmed its been approved yet.I have everything crossed it gets sorted, can’t get excited or anything.

Ours has been in processing since 13th April. I’ve spoken to someone on the phone, sent multiple emails. Had an email back from someone last week saying it hadn’t been more than 6 weeks since they received the documents, but the documents are showing as being scanned in on the 5th April so I’ve emailed them back telling them to check the dates.
Did yours go in to processing or straight from received to approved

It’s ridiculous after days of trying to call and getting a recorded message saying there was no one to take my call, I was told that I couldn’t do anything until the application was either more than 10 weeks old or 2 weeks before we fly.She said if it ends up being 2 weeks before we fly and its inside the 10 weeks there’s a £60 charge and its not a guaranteed service. I even said I was happy to pay the £60 now as I had finally managed to get through to just get the passport back in time, but she said no. Should have just lied and said the flight was in 2 weeks.
Doesn’t seem at all right that new applications are getting done straight away but some are waiting for ages.
They received our documents on the 5th April, went in to processing on the 13th April. There’s been no update since.
The other 2 we did went straight from documents received to approved, we received them on the 14th April, all done at the same time.When did yours go in to processing.
It’s a bit frustrating seeing all these other passports been done straight away when we’ve been waiting weeks and weeks with no updates
So I finally managed to speak to someone on the passport office help line. They said once it gets to 2 weeks before we fly or 10 weeks since the documents where received (which ever comes first) we could call back and upgrade to a fast track service – however this wasn’t guaranteed.
Has anyone who’s had their application go to processing rather than straight to approved had any updates yet.
@ribena71 have you had any further update in yours yet, yours was about a week ahead of mine.
It’s totally crazy that some people are getting there’s back in 3 weeks and some are taking month. Into week 9 now. Can’t get thought on the phone and no one bothers to reply to emails.
It was just a straight forward renewal, no changes to any details.
Just over 4 weeks til we fly now.
Some seem to go straight through without being checked, we got 2 back within 2 weeks still waiting in the 3rd been in processing since 13th April. Application received 29th March Documents received 5th April.
The variation in processing times seems to be pot luck at the minute
Ill update here as and when there is any movement on the application. Fingers crossed it gets approved soon.
@shaz79 mine didn’t show as being received on the passport site until about a week after and that was at the start of April. I sent an online form off about 2 weeks ago and I’m still waiting for a reply.So far the daughters has been there since the 13th April, does anyone have any idea how long its currently taking once at processing. We still 6 and a bit weeks before we are meant to fly.
@dan9294 when did yours go to processing?Why is there so much variation in the time at this office, some seem to get done straight away.
Sons was done the same day went to the same office and arrived by post on the 14.04.22.

Application submitted 6:08pm on 22 March 2022I have the same issue I sent 3 off at the same time to this office. 2 out of the 3 came back on the 13th April 3rd one is showing as processing since the 13th April.
I sent a online enquiry form a week ago, have had to reply yet also tried to call the passport helpline today but there was a recorded message saying due to call volumes they weren’t able to take my call and the line disconnected.
We are meant to be flying in 7 weeks time which will be 14 weeks since applying and I’m start to really worry about it now.
