I have also just picked up my passport! After waiting a week for my upgrade call, I called again at 8am and got an urgent call back by midday from Liverpool office to pick my passport from the Peterborough office at 4pm.
The process wasn’t as dreadful as I had hoped, I also got a phone call later on from the original call back which is proof that they will get back to you, they just work on the people who need them most urgently first.

I have still not received my call yet about an upgrade and I am supposed to be going on Friday. I feel like I can’t even get excited about my holiday as I can’t see it happening!
Really holding out hope that I can get it before then, if not it’ll be a long day at Peterborough office waiting for it on Thursday 🙁
Hjiki I would go 48 hours beforehand but I’m at work until the Thursday which is the day before travel so I’m going to have to go first thing in the Friday. Eek! Really hope it works out. The system is so flawed, how did they not pre-empt that people would be travelling this time of year?!
Anyway I will hope for the best and go the day before with fingers toes and eyes crossed!Haha I definitely can’t get into the eurotunnel without my passport!
Keeping fingers and toes crossed, if not a trip to Peterborough passport office on Friday is on the cards.
Thanks everyone for your help!I sent them by eurotunnel booking which is for Friday 22nd July so hopefully they get back to me! Do you think I should have sent hotel details too?

I have been shoved from pillar to post about my passport:
23rd May: application received
Then it said it was progressing and now this notification has disappeared!Called up for an upgrade as I am travelling in 8 days and my application was put in over 7 weeks ago. Have spoken to someone on the phone (after having to already wait 48 hours for a callback and then after being called back was put back on hold for 2 hours!) who has requested my upgrade and told me to send an email to Liverpool office and would receive a call within 48 hours. Has now been 3 days!
Is it worth going to Liverpool office day before hols if the upgrade doesn’t progress do you think?
Any advice welcome please I am PANICKING!!!!!
