Woah – finally I can breathe now, been a few frustrating weeks but passports finally approved. One sent and I guess the other will be at some point this week. So should have both by next week. (5 weeks since application submitted online for a simple child and adult renewal)
Will post my timelines when I get them.
Anyone due to go on holiday soon – have fun, enjoy! And forget about all the passport stress!!! You derserve it!! 🙂
sprajax1ParticipantThanks for that email @charlie2566 – Ill give it a couple of days now and see if they get back to me about the evidence. Yeah I didnt realise that the issue of the passports are not necessarily where the old passports were sent! I told the lady ours was sent to Glagow and Durham, but she asked me where my closest passport office is, which for me, would bePpeterborough! So I dont really know where the new passports are coming from.
sprajax1ParticipantThanks @mrmarkt – I shall be patient and wait a couple of days then and see what happens!!
sprajax1ParticipantHi all – thanks for your words of encouragement. I managed to get a call back today and the lady took all my details and said that the processing team will call me back in a couple of days..but still they cannot guarantee anything (why do they say this – it just creates more anxiety). The lady said the processing team may ask me for evidence, which I said im ready to provide..so I guess I’ll wait a couple of days and see what happens. Has anyone had experience of this?
sprajax1ParticipantThanks mrmarkt – I know they will escalate it 14 days before, but it just makes me wonder why they are holding on to passports for so long before processing them, while others are being processed so quickly…if they processed in a timely manner, they might receive less calls and complaints from us!!
Glad you have received yours – when do you travel?
im planning to have a party if and when I receive mine!!! Lol!!!
sprajax1ParticipantHi guys – so heres my update – apologies for the rant – its quite therapeutic though!!
losing the will to live here – both passports child renewal and adult renewal have been at ‘application processing’ – children renewal at 10 days and adult renewal at 16 days!!! and i thought the adult one was meant to be quicker!! applied on the 28th June – seeing peoples timelines who have applied after me and received their passports – im just like WHAT!! Anxious, frustated, tired!!!
Tried calling complaints – got call back answer message – left a message two days ago
Called the normal line – got call back answer message again – left another message yesterday.
Sent email to the liverpool email that I saw posted on here with travel evidence and booking pre-covid
Twitter messaged a few times – still waiting response two days later
Contacted MP office – said they have received information and will deal with my case – however have a backlog of cases to deal with.So ive done all I can and still I sit here waiting…3 weeks to travel and I have also added info that I need to add API 7 days prior to travel.
sprajax1Participant2 weeks on still at ‘processing’…
sprajax1Participantah I undestand now James, I do need to enter API as im travelling easyjet..my 21 days before travel will be next monday and also that 4 weeks over too…so either way i will call to try and escalate!! Boy will I deserve a holiday to get over this passport stress!!! 🙂
sprajax1ParticipantAdvance Passenger Information
sprajax1ParticipantHi @greaz90 – So you have applied in the same timescales as I have (7 weeks before your travel date), Im in my 3rd week of waiting now, so you could be lucky and your application processed in that time, however, if like me you are still waiting after that time, you can call them in the 4th week to escalate your application. Im hoping mine will move this week, however, if not, next week, I shall be calling complaints to escalate my application as I travel on the 17th August and Im waiting for a child renewal and an adult renewal.
sprajax1Participantsprajax1Participant@thekooseenlins – my son’s renewal took 12 days before before it was acknowledged as received, even though I knew they received 10days before (royal mail tracked) so hopefully by the end of the week they should acknowledge yours. once they do, I would call them and as you will be within your two weeks travel time they will escalate. I think its tight but its do-able. Ive been waiting for 3 weeks for two passports. Ive read some posts and people have escalated and had their passports approved and sent all in one day! Lucky..so I guess theres always a chance!
sprajax1ParticipantHi
Also travelling mid August.
Child renewal submitted 28th June
Acknowledged receipt on the 10th July (however I tracked that it was signed for on the 1st July)
Went to processing on the 14th JulyAdult Renewal submitted 28th June
Acknowledged receipt on the 8th July (however I tracked that it was signed for on the 2nd July)
Went to processing on the 8th JulyNo other updates for both, so today 20th July, both passports are still at processing. If they dont move by next Monday I will call them to escalate as it would have been 4 weeks from the point of submitting my application.
Ive been told that you have to wait 4 weeks or 16 days before you travel (which ever is sooner)to escalate your application.I was quite stressed out at first but everyone on the forum has been really helpful and set my mind at ease that I will hopefully get my passports on time so not stressing as much. Some people have applied after me and received theres and some before me are still waiting. Again, luck of the draw. Having patience is hard but certainly trying.
Hope this helps.
sprajax1ParticipantI think you will be fine. If no progress after 4 weeks you can escalate so you will still have plenty of time till your travel date.
