I received tracking SMS from DX yesterday (I live in Austria) and they indicated delivery at the ‘end of the day’ tomorrow (12th). Checked tracking and it only mentions one packet number. I thought the old passport was returned separately from the new one? Hopefully, this does not mean anything is a miss……
Application made from Austria to Liverpool Office on 17th March.
Further to my earlier message of today just received SMS to say ‘Application Approved’. So finally out of processing (since 1st May).
@JaMoUsE ; Also been waiting since March 17. Been having exchanges on Twitter with HMPO, latest response is am being told being told if I want ‘special’ consideration I will have to provide evidence for my urgent requirement. (New Passport needed to renew my Malaysian Employment Pass expiring next week). I have asked why IS IT some people are KEPT waiting months and others get dealt with straight away ? – but no response.
It is shambles. Everyone accepts there must be delays that is a given but why the inconsistencies in processing times? Mine is a simple Adult renewal -applied on line from Austria on March 17. Stuck in processing since May 1. Liverpool Office.
About to lose my job but hey-ho so are Millions of other poor souls. This issue has not been dealt with very well. If everyone is dealt with in the sequence with when they applied, I think everyone would accept this?
This seems to be a shambles to me where some people are being dealt with within ‘days’ and others (like myself) have been waiting 3+ months, including 5 weeks in processing. Tried e-mailing HMPO but just received a generic response saying basically ‘nothing’ of any sense.
Why can no one at the top of HMPO come out and just explain these inconsistencies and what is really going on. I am about to lose my Consultancy in Malaysia as cannot renew Employment Pass without valid Passport.
May be Overseas Applications (I am living in Austria when not working in Malaysia) are put to the bottom of the pile and all new Applications are piled on top?
Received another e-mail yesterday from the Passport Office saying do not bother calling us as no info available. Today is my 29th Day in ‘process’ in the Liverpool Office. Hopefully once the Reds win the league, turnaround times will improve. The inconsistencies are very annoying.
Live in Austria and applied on line in mid-March. My old passport arrived in the UK (Liverpool Office) 3 weeks later. Web-site says being processed 1st May and still waiting. Tried calling as I need urgently to renew my work permit in Malaysia and was told they cannot give me any estimates of when I might receive my new passport. Seems the news on here is inconsistent in so far as waiting times vary tremendously. No alternative other than to wait.
