StpParticipant
Called today, woman sounded hopeful I’d get my passport before my holiday but can never be sure if they are just fobbing you off. 6 weeks 4 days in, not with an examiner yet, 19 days processing so far, 27 days til flight.
She did say all first passports now require an interview though, can anyone confirm this?
I did see one person say that on twitter last month but most other people said only a small amount get selected for this.
StpParticipantFrom what I’ve seen most are between 2 and 5 weeks processing but seen a few under and over, no idea if it’s due to delays or what checks have to be done.
Mines currently been 19 days processing at the Liverpool office, first passport so possibly more checks being done. 5 weeks would leave me 10 days before travel, any longer and I’m probably gonna miss it despite booking over 10 weeks after application.
StpParticipantNot 100% sure on check and send but sounds like their equivalent of “documents received”. They don’t email you after that until it’s approved/sent.
Don’t think you’ll know for sure without phoning them up or maybe try web chat, they can tell you what stage it is at
StpParticipantI think it would depend entirely on what route your passport goes through.
If digital your passport will go straight to approved and you would probably get it in time.
If manual it will go to processing and have to be looked at by an examiner before it can be approved, from what I’ve seen can take an extra 2-6 weeks.
Not sure what exactly flags it to go manual but either way I’d probably wait until you get approved to book anything.
StpParticipantRaz0r – First passport here also and that doesn’t make me very hopeful :/
In processing from 1st April after taking 22 days to log my documents. Their website quoted 4 weeks total but allowing their “up to” 10 weeks my partner booked travel for the 16th May, 11 weeks after application
From what I’ve seen other people post processing is around 5 weeks which is this week for you, hopefully you hear something and the extra checks don’t add much time on.
Did you just ask them where your application was up to on the phone? I’m going to try giving them a ring tomorrow
StpParticipantAnyone else in processing from late March/early April and seen any movement?
First passport, 6 weeks in now, they said it would be 4 weeks when application was submitted. Travel in 4 weeks and 2 days so fingers crossed still.
Timeline:
Application being processed 10:40am on 1 April 2022
Documents received 12:44pm on 29 March 2022
(Documents were sent on the 5th, next day delivery)
Application received 1:56pm on 5 March 2022
Identity details received 1:55pm on 5 March 2022
Email sent to person confirming your identity 1:42pm on 5 March 2022
Ask someone to confirm your identity 12:44pm on 5 March 2022
Application submitted 12:44pm on 5 March 2022April 12, 2022 at 3:22 pm in reply to: Average time between documents delivered and registered as received? #12302StpParticipantMine took 22 days in Liverpool.
Only thing that makes sense in my mind is they have a “just pile it on” post “system”.
Spoke to loads of people with similar and most from the week starting 7th march were delayed yet some who sent 2-3 weeks after them were getting logged in 2 days.
StpParticipantFINALLY got confirmation of my documents received just now.
5th March Application sent, Identity confirmed and documents sent
8th March at 10:40am RM signed for documents
29th March at 12:44pm delivery acknowledged on trackerOver 3 weeks later.
Found about 5 other people with the same delivery date on twitter and the same problem. Pretty sure now that the post from that day just got piled on top of.
Pretty peed off I’ve seen people who sent documents 2 weeks later than me get theirs logged last week. I can finally try and stop so being anxious though and leave it with them for a few weeks
StpParticipantMines still saying send documents, they were delivered signed for on the 8th at 10 in the morning so 3 weeks tomorrow.
Not sure if it’s the tracker not updating or they’re just being terribly slow. Was advised on the phone it could be a glitch with the tracker not updating but think he was just fobbing me off.
StpParticipantHoping mine is just at the bottom of the pile then rather than lost :/
From this thread I’ve seen a few delivered on the 8th logged from 23-25th.Frustrating thing is seeing people saying theirs arrived days after mine already go into processing.
Their “system” is a joke. I can only assume for at least that week (possibly longer) they just piled the mail up then sorted from the top, newer stuff first.
StpParticipantRetep – have you heard anything yet? You replied to me on the Liverpool thread as the only person waiting longer for them to log documents. I’ve still heard nothing from the 8th.
StpParticipantstressedmum01 – congrats, hope you get it in time. Any chance you know what time on the 8th your documents were delivered?
My worry was that they’ve lost a bag of post from the 8th, so same question to anyone else if theirs was RM tracked on the 8th at 10:40.
StpParticipantSuperstressedmum – I’m in the same boat as you, documents still not logged. By any chance were yours tracked? Mine was logged as Delivered at: 10:40, Tuesday 08 March 2022
I submitted an online enquiry form after 2 weeks, they say you’ll get a reply in 3 days but I’ve had no reply in 6 now.
Used the web chat which is useless and I don’t recommend that anyone bothers using it. Seemed all they could do was look at your history on the website, kept getting told “I don’t have the facilities” for anything else
Now waiting on a call back since Saturday morning
StpParticipantTo anyone who’s waited for a call back how long did it take?
StpParticipantTo anyone who’s rang them, is the number they give the best to call? (03002220000) or is there a more direct one
