Finally got my passport to New Zealand! Took 5 weeks as advertised.
This is my timeline (received a text with tracking number after numerous phone calls and urgencies)
Passport received 21st March via DHL
Passport tracking number received 17th March
Passport printed 9:50pm on 9 March 2022
Application approved 1:17pm on 8 March 2022
Documents received 7:15pm on 2 March 2022
Application received 12:00am on 15 February 2022
Application submitted 11:59pm on 14 February 2022viksnidParticipantI got an email back from mine asking for information of what office and my application dates etc.. he emailed me back the next day saying he was following up on it with the head of that office since I’m overseas with no valid proof of a visa. If you give them a subject of urgency they look into it for you.
viksnidParticipantYes it did! I had to threaten them though and tell them it was urgent. I finally got a nice lady who I told them I needed my visa and she put through an urgent call back and I then soon after got my tracking number. I feel like you don’t get anywhere without pushing them

I got a waybill number in a text message. Have you called the passport office? I think they’re closed weekends. Call on Monday and explain it’s urgent. Explain that I got mine after 7 days.
viksnidParticipantWhen went into printed and sent within a day. That’s strange.. I would call them and mention your visa is urgent.
viksnidParticipantI got it in a text message. Threaten to get your local MP involved and explain the passport is the only form of ID. Tell them you’ve been on the phone so many times and get strict with them. They only budged when I did that. I got a reply back from my emails and a text message as they marked me as URGENT. Do the same!
viksnidParticipantI’d do a nice little white lie and say it’s urgent only from of identification. I managed to get one person who actually helped me called “Julie” she was so empathetic and helpful. Marked everything as urgent then and only then processing team called within 20 minutes. Gave me a tracking number. Just keep pushing them. I was telling her how I’ve called everyday for different information and I’m not happy.
viksnidParticipantI travel on May 6th. They normally take 14 days from when they receive your documents to process them on the system. Mine did, if that time has gone I would keep calling and telling them any reason you can to make it urgent. I ended up putting in a lost passport request as mine had been 16 days and the next day BOOM they processed my things into the system. Then with my new passport being sent, I had to call them for a week for a tracking number, called last night told them my passport is my only form of ID and without it I have no visa. BOOM I receive a tracking number 5hrs after my phone call. Keep pushing! They only seem to budge when you keep pushing. Don’t let the customer service keep feeding you crap. I eventually told the woman “ok five different types of information now. Get me someone who can give me a tracking number”

viksnidParticipantStill no tracking number to me either. I’ve complained put in a bunch of online forms and nothing replied to. Customer service don’t seem to be trained either. All of them give different info

viksnidParticipantMine was printed and sent last Thursday, received no tracking. Hopefully mine comes soon. One person from HMPO said “sometimes you don’t get tracking” what kind of service is that.
viksnidParticipantJust called again. Progress team super busy and didn’t answer as usual. Another agent another story “DHL have picked it up and you should have got a text” no text and no contact from DHL. “Oh, please submit an online enquire form” I’m due to travel on 6th May and need to transfer my visa. Such a stressful process.
