    First post for me. We are in an awful situation where I have two passport renewal applications in for my children. All very straightforward.. you would think ! Submitted application back in March, but stuck in “processing” since 22nd April.

    We travel on Saturday. Like many, I have phoned and emailed, from 2 weeks before to attempt an upgrade.

    No response from the upgrade team that actually finish the application / take payment for the upgrade.

    On Tuesday this week, one passport suddenly went to approved and then printed at 2pm on the same day. The last message simply says that it will be transferred to the delivery supplier in a few days. I have had no tracking information. I contacted the helpline and they have said it has gone through as a “standard” service rather than upgrade, therefore it would have to be sent out by post. I decided to use the PEX number to see if the PEX number would work on TNT tracking and to my delight it did, with a delivery date of today. This feeling of delight was short lived as it had in the freight description “supporting documents.” So I might be in the ridiculous situation where I have my expired passport back first, but not the new passport. Has anyone had this situation?? I am just hoping it is an error and the new passport actually turns up via TNT!!

    The other passport is still in processing.. so like others, I am travelling to my nearest passport office today as we are within 48 hours of our flights.. hopefully they can complete the passport application and print today!

    I might ask about the other passport at the same time. I am going to Durham, which is where they centrally print standard applications.
