wastedorangesParticipant
Fingers crossed Leahmca – my husbands applied that date too and it got approved on Monday. No sign of it being printed or sent but hopefully soon. Seems those with February application dates have been taking the longest
wastedorangesParticipantMy sons passport finally arrived today after starting the application on Feb 4!
wastedorangesParticipantMy sons passport – application started 4 Feb and went into processing 25 Feb has finally been printed today and my husbands that was started 4 Feb and went into processing 28 Feb was finally improved today. Hopefully this shambles will all be over soon and we will have the passports!
wastedorangesParticipantMy husbands passport has been “in processing” since 28 Feb and still nothing. Surely it’s got to be soon as my sons that went into processing on 25 Feb and got approved last week (though it got approved the day after I complained so not sure if that helped).
wastedorangesParticipantOh my god, my sons renewal that became a lost passport (Royal Mail delivered the envelope but with nothing in it) was just approved! I can’t believe it! 7.5 weeks and 4.5 in processing! Now just waiting on my husbands!

wastedorangesParticipantGraceLay25 I feel like something is going on with passports that are processing from around that time in Feb. I am still waiting for two from 25 and 28 Feb.
I don’t seem to have any luck when they finally call me back or using the online form. Just a stupid process – feel like someone’s been off sick and they just sit waiting for their return, rather than are passed on to someone else.wastedorangesParticipant@amirun87 no! They’ve said that the ‘in processing’ are being worked through in date order, which obviously isn’t the case as seen so many approved with layer processing dates.
wastedorangesParticipant@amirun87 that is unusual, I’ve not heard of them giving any sort of indicated date. I have two passports currently in processing since 25 & 28 Feb and still nothing 🤷♀️
wastedorangesParticipantChef0389 one of my applications went into processing the day after yours (though my application went in on Feb 4) are you a lost passport rather than a renewal?
Cause if it is a lost passport it is much easier to get an emergency appointment so might be worth it in your case?wastedorangesParticipantJesspop30. What great news – with a bit of luck you should get it in time.
If you don’t mind me asking what date did it go into ‘processing?’wastedorangesParticipantI’ve had an application ‘in processing’ since 25 Feb and one since 28 Feb and no sign of the passports. Documents received 8 Feb.
Hope you get an update soon but based on the ‘in processing’ times I’ve seen you may be wise to see if it is possible to move your trip.
They only seem to move quick if they miss out the ‘in processing’ stage as one of my kids did.wastedorangesParticipantI also notice that they haven’t updated their how long passports are taking page since the week ending 6th March – I wonder if their figures are too bad!
wastedorangesParticipantHas anyones application actually moved from “processing” to “approved”? I only seem to see on here those being approved that don’t have the application stage.
wastedorangesParticipantI am waiting on two passports, one in processing since 25feb and one since 28 Feb. Anyone else waiting from around this sort of time? Or had recent approval from February time?
wastedorangesParticipantThe same situation happened to me with my sons passport. The tracked envelope arrived but it had nothing in it.
What you need to do is cancel the passport using the online form – if you have not got a cancellation reference number when doing this, phone the line and ask to speak to the lost and stolen team on the phone – I was told I’d get a call back but I didn’t so I called everyday and on day 3 I got through on the line. I started by saying that I was concerned that an un-cancelled passport was out there so I think the call handler took it seriously.
I don’t know why my online cancellation requests didn’t go through by the man on the lost passport line cancelled it on the spot and gave me a reference number. I then used their online form to ask them to convert the existing renewal to a lost in transit and gave them the cancelled reference number. I have since got an email confirming that they have done this and the application is hopefully sat in the processing queue.
Hope this helps and hope it gets sorted for you soon. -
