Passport Waiting Time - Latest UK Passport Waiting Times

I submitted my passport application mid-July. My time line from an email sent to me from the passport office reads as shown below. As you can see it’s taken three weeks for the passport office to look at the documents from receipt of application and over one month to process the renewal for a standard adult passport. I haven’t heard anything else from the passport office since 20 August 2020. I am absolutely disgusted!
Why can’t the passport office add another time line that reads “Estimated number of days to complete processing of passport application XX days”? Surely the passport office needs to give guidance on the length of time it takes to process a passport.
