So just to elaborate on the dates as I did a paper application form. I sent it off by post on the 28th May. I got a text from HMPO saying that they received my application on the 13th June and my application has been sent to Durham passport office for examination. I would say it took 8 weeks for my passport to be processed and emailed from the 15th June to 12th August so my application was completed within the 10 week deadline so try not to worry!

There was a frustrating lack of communication. When I was advised to phone the Advice Line I kept having to repeat the reason for me contacting them. No one seemed to have any authority – only when a manager finally spoke to me did I feel I was able to make any progress.

Great service from Timpsons getting IDPC passport photo. Application submitted in a few minutes – old passport sent back “signed for” on Thursday. Old passport received on Friday. Application approved on Saturday – sent for printing. Monday notification passport was being sent to courier. Tuesday 7:56 passport delivered.
Only downside was we turned down a good offer on holiday abroad because we feared a 10 week wait!!

My application was stuck like this for weeks, It is 7 weeks in and I need my passport due to a pre booked holiday.
After calling and waiting till two weeks prior to my flight I was finally put through to upgrades department on 5th august.
I was forwarded to Liverpool upgrades team via email.
August 5th: I sent across details of upgrade request and my flight details etc.
August 16th: Sent another email with details to a different email for Liverpool.
August 16th: 12:30PM no caller ID ringed me and was Liverpool passport upgrades department asking for details and then card details.
Around two hours after that call my passport application was approved at: 1:58PM.
I’m due to collect at Newport tomorrow around 1PM.
Flight is 18th August in the morning.
This whole process has been very stressful only as would have lost lots of money as could not amend booking of hotel, they was charging more on top! Do not book with love holidays, scammers.
Lucky now no money will be lost.

Posted old passport on 1st August, Photo knocked back 11th August, resubmitted photo 12th August accepted later that day. Text received Monday 15th August saying it had been printed, text received Tuesday morning saying it was out for delivery and received the passport shortly after. 2 weeks from start to finish all in all very good.
