Some staff on the phone were very helpful. One was rude and dismissive. Thankfully I phoned back and someone else really got the application moving.

Once we went over the 10 weeks since applied for/2 weeks prior to travel, things moved fairly well but only because of the incredible advice on this and other forums on how to navigate things. Absolutely disgraceful decision from the Home Office to not be using extra staff to clear the backlog from Apr/May rather than processing new applications.
