All in all a very efficient process. Passport office should show typical wait times as well as the 10 week maximum expected wait. I get that they don’t want people chasing after waiting 2-3 weeks, but more transparency would be great.

Brilliantly easy! Highly recomend getting your photo taken at an official location who will give you a code to enter on line (cost me £8.99 as opposed to the post office charging £16.99).
It then took me less than 10 minutes online, passport delivered 11 days later.

Great site here, found it useful seeing others timeline for receiving their passport from different offices.
I applied online on 12th January and posted my old passport off special delivery half an hour later. Old passport was signed for at HH on 13th January but was not logged into system until 19th January. Then took until 25th for the passport to be approved. Seems HH is a bit slower than some other offices but new passport still received in 16 days so still impressed with the speed of service.
