Comments:
I applied online and sent my supporting documents via Royal Mail next day recorded delivery. I received confirmation from Glasgow office that my documents were received the same day they arrived. I had problems booking my interview but after I escalated it via Passport Office general enquiry line they notified my allocated passport office and one of their officers called me two days later to arrange a video interview for the next day. My passport arrived a few days later, and supporting documents a week after that. Overall, I had a very positive experience with Glasgow passport office, the only issue was booking the interview but this was resolved after I escalated it.

I renewed online. I was kept updated well and the process from the passport office was very good. However, the TNT delivery service wasn’t. Sometime between 8am and 8pm is very vague. I missed the first delivery attempt (my phone was off and they did not knock on my door). I could not contact the courier and their customer service was very bad and unhelpful.

We sent off 3 children’s applications and have received one, with two stud ki limbo with absolutely zero updates. They also didn’t acknowledge my other two children’s passport applications for an additional 8 days, so we will be able to ask them what’s taking so long the day before we are moving out of the country. There’s no reason for this delay, since obviously one child’s got processed in less than a month!

We had booked airplane tickets even before our baby was born. We confidently assumed that the passport would be here 10 weeks from when we applied, which was plenty of time for our planned flight over four months later. It took four weeks for the Passport Office to ‘receive’ her documents, and then three months to approve her passport. We called the Passport Advice line repeatedly. At one point they told us that we needed to send them another ‘confirm your identity’ form in, so we did that. Nothing seemed to get us anywhere. Even though an examiner was working on our application. The Passport arrived five hours before our plane took off, too late for us to catch the flight!. Thank God we had changed our tickets by then, so we didn’t loose the tickets. Though we did loose a week and a half of our planned holiday.
