Had to withdraw application first time around because only after paying the fee did they tell me i needed to send current passports with application, which could take 10 wks. Fee was not reimbursed.
Second time i applied and luckily over a phone call they said i needed to send birth certificate also, which wasn’t on list of documents to send.
It then went smoothly and quickly.

08.11.2022- email saying passport printed and transferred to delivery suppliers (08:21 am)
08.11.2022- passport received by time I got home at 14:00
My advice- make sure you take photo in natural light, and it says “good” on the meter when you upload the photo

I’m so relieved! Applied online from Spain, the process was fast and easy.
I called the helpline to confirm what supporting documents were actually needed (it’s standard to ask for both maternal and paternal grandparents’ birth certificates. These are only necessary if the child’s parents were born after 1983). In our case, we only had to provide 2, not 4.
