So much simpler than I had imagined. Applied online on 23rd August and sent back old passport by Special Delivery. They confirmed receipt on 24th August and then approved on 6th September and delivered new one on 8th September via TNT. Very impressed and pleased.

Slow process, but this application had no issues really. Word of warning, I was advised to cancel the application and get a fast-track appointment, however what they advice line don’t say/know is that it takes around 2 weeks for an application to be withdrawn before you can attend a fast track appointment to open another application.

Received quickly and kept up to date by email. Slightly confusing when I got a 2nd email after 2 weeks saying identity needed confirmed when this had already been done once. Gave the same persons name and the passport was approved the next day.

Excellent experience in difficult times.
I decided to go straight for fast track despite having 8 weeks until our holiday for my baby’s first passport. This was the best decision I made.
3 week wait for appointment.
Appointment Tuesday 17th May 2pm.
Passport through door Sat 21st May 1pm.
Experience at the passport office was excellent. Very efficient, polite happy staff.
I honestly cannot fault the fast track service. Completely worth the money to save my stress levels.

12 weeks was longer than expected to wait applying from France. I had booked a flight which I then had to move as a result of the delay.
I phoned the passport office twice to push the process but the passport office can do nothing they said. Overall stressful not knowing any date of completion.
