Living in the South of Thailand and having to make 2 return trips is expensive. As a pensioner on a fixed income it was a large percentage of my monthly outgoings. Also very tiring – in total a round trip of over 15 hours, at the age of 67!! Additionally, the security guard is less than friendly or helpful!! The office staff were very friendly and understanding!!

I’m actually shocked but pleasantly surprised how quickly this has come back. Was thinking of booking a holiday in 9 weeks time, and thought I’d take the chance that my passport would be back in around 5 weeks. Less than 5 days….. After applying on the Saturday and posting old passport back on the Monday…….is phenomenal.

7 weeks nearly, which I know is better than the 10 weeks advertised. It is so frustrating though when you know others are getting them back in 2 weeks and you haven’t heard anything. We did ours via the paper form, my sister and her family did them online 3 days before us and received them in just over 2 weeks. So not sure if online is quicker or if it’s just pot luck. Just relieved that they are here.

Wow, what a rollercoaster. The online portal wasn’t updating any information beyond old passport received and calls to the advice line weren’t eliciting any useful information other than ‘hold tight’. It was only when we got our MP’s office involved did we find out that the old passport had been lost. At this point we were given the magic expedited email address and the email of the location where our passport was being processed. With four days before holiday we received a phone call saying that our passport could be picked up from our local office. My advice would be to contact your MP if you haven’t heard anything for a long time and be persistent on the advice line. In reality it is only when you have been waiting for 6 weeks and you are 2 weeks away from your booked trip, will anything happen. This forum is great by the way.

The “not knowing” part is very frustrating with this. My application was a lost / renewal so went down the lost route. I had to upgrade request 2 weeks before the flight date which I did. Only just got a call 48hr before flight and can collect the next day. I would have got it sooner if I reported it lost first. This seemed to be the hold up but was advised I didn’t need to do this.
All in all it wasn’t the best process but thankfully all resolved.

From Documents Received to Application Approved seemed in line with what the timelines have been. I was actually expecting it to be approved mid-July so it was approved a little earlier than I thought.
The only hiccup was receiving the passport from TNT. They text me at around 8am on Tuesday 5 July to say my passport would be delivered by 8pm that day. It never arrived so I had to reschedule it. I would have rescheduled it for the next day but I knew my wife and I wouldn’t be in and then we were away so I played it safe and rescheduled it for a day I knew one or both of us would be in. It duly arrived on that rescheduled day, Monday 11 July, mid-morning.
Quite a relief that it’s all sorted; having read some of the headlines and unfortunate experiences of some on here who submitted their applications months ago I had moments where I feared the worst. Now we’re all set for our family holiday in mid-August!

We used the online platform and were met with constant issues.
Our counter signature bit could not be done online, whenever they tried to approve our details it was met with not matched even though they were correct. We were told that it was a bug on there end and the only thing they could do is either request it to someone else hoping that it would solve the issue or move to paper counter part which meant it prolonged our experience.
We also had our tracker on our online portal lose information and had multiple mis advice on the phone with multiple agents.

It was easy enough to apply online. However tracking updates were slow. It took 7 days to acknowledge receipt of my passport then we had no further tracking information for another 22 days. Then on 6th July passport had been approved and we received it on 8th July.
