Took around 2 weeks after receipt of documents for them to be updated on the system and then then around 3 weeks in the processing stage. After that it was printed and received in a couple of days.
Took a while for documents to be registered, but once this part of the application had been completed it was all quite quick!
I was asked to confirm my identify details four times even though my referees were all acceptable. No one could explain why. My partner’s was approved before mine, but my partner is still waiting.
Just took a while to get an update on receiving old passport.
Three child renewals made on the same day. This one was turned around in two weeks. The other two took 10 days to just acknowledge receipt of documents. Family holiday coming up. Very stressful!
Took Durham PO 8 days to acknowledge documents after Royal Mail confirmed receipt. A further 8 days to approve thereafter. Phoned on a few occasions because of anxiety about an upcoming travel date, and was given very little (and often conflicting) information from customer services hotline. TNT relatively slow to deliver after new passport marked as printed and sent.
Took them 9 days to acknowledge they had received my old passport and commence with renewal, but was a quicker process after that.
Excellent service
Initial process – easy. It took 7 days for documents to be acknowledged and then 16 days for the application to be approved. I think it’s important to mention the shipping of the passport once the office marks it as posted. I highly advise people not to pay for tracked delivery as it takes around 7-9 days from application approval to receive with TNT. If you don’t pay the extra fee and go with Royal Mail it should arrive within a day or two. I wish this information was on this website because once I started looking on Twitter it seems that this is a huge problem with the passport office and TNT is incredibly unreliable.
It took 2 weeks and a phone call to acknowledge that they had received my documents.
No tracking information from courier, new passport appeared without notice.
Renewal process was a breeze, TNT delivery took 4 days, I know that’s a lot better than many other peoples experiences.
They kept asking me to now send my old passport (3 times) , which I had, the site didn’t update to say they had received it. Then I get a message saying old passport received, renewal approved, passport at the printers.
The longest individual part of the process was the time it took – 10 days – to get my old passport from the post room to begin processing the application. Make sure you send your documents by Royal Mail signed for with tracking so you can prove it has actually arrived at the passport office. My husband’s old passport went to Bootle where the process was faster than mine, which went to Durham.
Easy but stressful as son is travelling next day early. After TNT not delivering when said on tracker we were allowed to pick up from TNT depot, 12 hours before travel!!
Within timescale of advertised 3 weeks and TNT delivered new passport next day following dispatch from HMPO
Process went smoothly.
Total lack of understanding despite contacting for assistance early on in the process just fobbed off at every turn and was only permitted to speak to customer service management when it was clear there was absolutely nothing that could be done to get my passport to me on time.
The delivery company took a few days and didn’t provide any tracking info.
Documents received on 8th of March. The passport was posted with two stamps on the 22nd of February.
Applied on line 24/02/22. Sent old passport off same day. Old passport received on 3/03. New passport arrived today: 8/03. Happy Days!
Delivery time was delayed. Stayed home all day yesterday so that I could sign the document. It didn’t arrive on the given day. It arrived today while I was out and pushed through the letter box – no requirement to sign after all.
