Started to worry as I’d made 5 applications and received them all except this one, was needed for ID purposes too for college. It was a renewal from child to adult. I’d rang numerous times and waited for call backs but just told I had to wait until 48hours before flight. I was that worried I booked some cheap flights so that I wasn’t leaving it right before our holiday but didn’t end up needing them anyway as finally changed to approved, then printed and received the next day.

used post office to send in passport for renewal. Traveling on June 19th, rang up 7th June 2 weeks before travel and was told had to wait until to 6 week after submission (16th). Rang up again 14th june and was told it was 6 weeks from them opening which meant I couldn’t push for upgrade until 22nd, ask if there was anything i could do and was told there is literaly nothing you can do. Planned trip to Cornwall instead while at pun on 14th then received sms saying my passport had been printed, rang them instantly and got it confirmed that It is now with tnt. wife very happy, marriage intact

We were on holiday and had already booked our next holiday, 5 weeks after we returned from our current holiday, only to notice that he that the 6 months needed on the passport would expire the day we landed from our current holiday. This is when the panic set in. Government website stated we should allow 10 weeks for the renewal passport to be processed. We applied immediately on the day we landed and sent off the old passport the same day. It took them 2 weeks to acknowledge receipt of passport. I did ring up after week one to chase but was informed that we needed to wait 2 weeks. After we received SMS to inform us they had received old passport, processing and printing was done within the same week. It took a further week for it to be delivered. I checked on this website on a daily basis to see Average Waiting Times which gave us some hope that we would received ours within the 5 weeks for when we needed it next. And your average wait times were spot on. Thank you.

My passport took over 10 weeks. I didn’t contact them as i was told to wait until contacted so those who needed help/advice could get through easier. However I did call after my passport had been stuck in processing for 6 weeks. Turns out they were waiting for information (lost passport reference number) that they hadn’t contacted me for. My passport still took almost another 4 weeks to receive after I provided this information. However once it got approved, I received it 3 days later!

Although my application was submitted on 05/05 and I submitted the documents via special delivery on the next day, the documents were not received until 26/05 and my application was approved on 15/06. This made me feel slightly nervous as I was hoping to go abroad on 11/07. I received my child’s first passport on the 17/06 and I thank my Lord for it, Alhamdullilah.

This straightforward renewal passport application was switched to a manual process for some reason and just sat between offices for weeks. I had a flight coming up so managed to upgrade my application, otherwise it might have been even longer. I wouldn’t have had to upgrade this application if the passport office didn’t request and hold on to foreign passports. I know have my kid’s British passport, waiting for the foreign passport to be returned.
I’d rate it a 1/5 for the process before upgrading. The upgrade team was 5/5 – once contacted, the passport was printed within 2 hours, and received the following day.

There was a slight delay in submission of the old passport due to the person I asked to verify identity taking longer than expected but all good in the end. Slightly stressed about my daughter’s passport as it is in Durham. It was received on 30 May and signed for and they text me on 8 June to say they hadn’t received it but then on 10 June said they had received it! It still hasn’t been approved so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I will hear something next week.

Overseas Child Renewal. When you live abroad, the uncertainty of not being able to plan travel or worse, plan a return to the UK to see family is terrible.
Adult passport.to replace lost children’s passport posted 29th March and acknowledged as received 1st April, cheque cashed 4th April. Unfortunately we don’t have a tracking number. Emailed 3 weeks ago ams received a response this week to say the application is still waiting to be checked. It has now been over 10 weeks since the application was received.
