Adult renewal where previous passport had been cancelled (lost then found). Chased a couple of times, Application submitted 25.01.22, went to Examination 10.02.22, approved 25.02.22, received 28.02.22.
Much simpler than I expected. A little worried that my digital photo would not be accepted, but in spite of the warning that it may not be, when uploading the digital reference number, it actually was accepted and everything went smoothly. Just awaiting my old passport back now.
The information on this page helped me to decide whether I should go with the normal passport renewal or via the fast track. The forum was also useful and helped to relieve some of the common stresses. I’m glad I found this website.
Long delay between HMPO signing for old passport and acknowledging same on website.
Took a long time for the passport office to say they had received my old passport even though I could see it had been delivered through tracking. Was told the delivery service would be in contact with the date to deliver my passport but they didn’t
No courier name or tracking number was provided on the updates received from HMPO. I learned from forums that HMPO uses DHL for overseas deliveries and how to properly enter my application number for tracking. It would be helpful if HMPO would provide this info amd I will leave feedback on their site to that effect.
Passport office completed in advertised 3 weeks but TNT delivery took 5 days!
A lot faster and easier than I was expecting.
Won’t accept my online passport photo. Although my old passport was sent special delivery next day from application, it took 9 days for passport office to confirm it’s delivery. Very poor delivery service and communication by TNT who deliver new passport.
Documents not received back yet but advised this will be under separate mailing.
The application tracking page wasn’t updated for at least a week once my old passport was received.
It took 6 days from The Passport Office saying they had sent to TNT for TNT to deliver it.
The ‘we’ve received your documents’ stage is misleading as it looks like they’re not actively doing anything, they’ve simply got your documents and they’re now sitting on a shelf.
