I was unable to receive the passport on 16th as I was away: I changed delivery date to 19th online & it arrived at 13.30 on that day. I have filled in 16/05 above, as that was when it went out for delivery until I made the change. Having a narrower window of delivery than 08.00 to 20.00 would make life easier.

I didn’t post my old passport until Thursday 5th May – it was received on Monday the 9th May. It was approved on the Wednesday, printed on the Friday and arrived on Monday 16th. Much quicker than I expected. I applied online and took my own picture.

Used upgrade service for two children’s renewals as within two weeks of travel. Had to re-report as lost/stolen and get new reference numbers as the original ones hadn’t been added to the application after phoning them in six weeks earlier. Was called 4 days prior to flights and passports were received next day via Royal Mail.

The process between submission and approval was very stressful – it was 7 weeks without any information at all. Contacting by phone was impossible. Once the application was approved the process went smoothly.
Spent hours and hours on phone getting nowhere. With upgrade team and less than 6 days before travel still no call, nothing.
Ridiculous absolutely ridiculous. No consistency whatsoever!!
When did you apply ? Can you not ask your MP for help
We were told we’d be able to upgrade on 19th May. Haven’t had a call back yet and only 8 days now until travel. How do you get to speak to the upgrade team?
