Just TOO much stress… only to get a passport!
After tens of phone calls, emails and getting our MP involved had a phone call on Monday at 20.00 and after 20 minutes and it got approved!!
printed, posted on Tuesday and delivered today!!
20 minutes is probably maximum time they spend to conclude a manual processing so if they take so long that doesn’t mean they have spent 3 MONTHS to review my case!
They are probably too busy/short of staff to invest 20 min to make a decision on a case quicker!
feeling relieved after all so good luck to you all!
This was first passport after naturalisation by the way and no need for an interview!!

Online application 19/04/22, for travel on 14 June, posted recommandé 20/04/22. Delivered to Durham 03/05/22 but not logged as received until 24/05/22. Approval on 30/5/22 and message received to say being sent on 01/06/22. However the passport was not handed to courier until 07/06/22. Finally collected from couriers depot on 08/06/22, 49 days from despatch to receipt and 6 days before I travel.

Originally applied for an online child renewal as it was the only option available given their age but by the time the passport office got round to processing my child had turned 16. Had a letter asking us to complete a paper application. Returned the firm and them asked to send 2 passport photos. This is where it felt like a black hole- multiple emails and wasted phone calls until I tried the Welsh option and then someone from the passport office called me back to say the application was with the examiner. Got the passport 10 days later (a week after it was printed)

Applied for a passport renewal for myself and my son and a first passport for my 7 month old. All applications were submitted online, with the photos took from an iPhone. Applied on the 10th of May with documents posted the next day by special delivery but this wasn’t updated on our application as received until the 23rd of May. Our renewals were both approved on the 30th of May, printed on the 1st of June and received on the 6th of June. Jubilee weekend would have delayed delivery a bit. So took around 4 weeks for our renewals. But my first child passport is still stuck on documents received with no update, so really hoping this gets moving soon.

My son had 7 weeks till travel when he sent his passport off. We kept reading the news and panicked that he needed 10 weeks. We both kept checking the urgent appointment slots and nothing available. I read this site and he took a gamble. The first week he didn’t hear and then the within days of knowing that his application had arrived, he got a message that it was being printed and sent. I think because his was straight forward renewal it made the difference. So glad I found this site…thank you to the organisers.

After receiving the text to say my passport had been printed I did not receive another one telling me it was on its way. First I knew was a text from DHL on the day of delivery telling me it was out for delivery.
Had some problems with the photo from a photo booth so ended up having to get a second set done at Snappysnaps

Took over 40 calls, advise line only a buffer as have no information to hand. Was told by advice line on 04/06/22 that it was sent to local office London) for printing and they would call giving me a time to pickup. However email then said ‘printing’ followed by sent Royal mail. Passport was actually printed 04/06/22 in Belfast. I was lucky I had time to call repeatedly hanging on for literally hours but the vast majority are not able to do this.

The application was stagnant for about 2/3 weeks. I managed to speak to someone on the help line. They said when I was two weeks from travel, I could pay to upgrade and the passport would be with me in 2 weeks. The next day the application was approved. Not sure if the phone call helped or not. The passport arrived about a week after it was approved. But we had the jubilee so would have been sooner I think.

After 21 days I should have been able to see progress but that didn’t work. I found a useful phone number and customer service were very helpful. Said call back next week if no progress. 2 days after this phone call it was showing as approved. The phone number was 0300 330 0901

Can you not try the emergency service where if you are travelling in the next 48 hours you can go to an office to get them printed out??
