27/4 Letter sent to passport office explaining requirement for second passport.

Update:
11/05 Further to submission of letter explaining second passport status the application history has changed to ‘documents received’ and no longer states ‘send us you documents’.

Waiting further update.

Still no update on passport renewal. Spoke with HMPO on 26/5 advising them of urgency and they took details. Now 6 weeks waiting but the system has yet to update with the option to speed up application so HMPO assistant manually updated the urgency request. Followed up with an email to urgent applications including planned travel ticket evidence.

Update:
Received a call from HMPO Glasgow and dedicated officer. He advised that new passport could be issued once my second passport returned to him directly and that this could be done by an overnight service once received. Due to travel commitments we agreed to reconnect at the start of July and arrange for the renewal.

Update:
After a call with HMPO examiner (Glasgow) they sent me an email requesting second passport to be sent to the directly and they will print and send replacement passport overnight.

13/7 – passport sent to address given – 3 Northgate
14/7 – 07:30 Royal Mail advise passport redirected.
17/7 – 08:40 passport delivered and signed for.

Awaiting update from HMPO

Update:
18/7 Received call from Examiner, both passports now in his possession and proceeded to cancel both and issue single replacement. Also advised that he would select London for local printing of passport to help expedite delivery of passport before I’m due to fly on the 22nd.
18/7 15:36 received text passport application approved and sent for printing.

18/7 – 14:22 Notification email passport printed

Update:
After a notification the passport had gone for delivery but no update from courier I called HMPO helpline numerous times. On 21/7 I got an email stating to sign passport when receive.

22/7 11:30 call from HMPO London – passport can be collected direct from the East London office (by Excel) between 12-4pm (22/7 is Saturday). Arrived at 1pm, advised to come back at 1:45 due to lunch break. 1:45 – cleared security and picked up passport 2 minutes later.

Case closed.
