Pretty easy. You can track your renewal on the Gov website, but they also send you email updates when things change & text messages too.

I used the Photo-Me booth to get a digital photo for my passport, which was very straightforward. I was struggling to take a photo with my phone and didn’t like how they turned out, so the booth was worth the money for me. I applied Tuesday evening and didn’t send my documents until Thursday morning (special delivery). Passport received by the office on Saturday morning, application approved Saturday evening. Printed Monday, sent off Tuesday, received by me Wednesday morning – both my new and old passports arrived at the same time. I’m so impressed with how quick everything was!

Sent passport back and was received on 8th April, and confirmed the 8th April as being accepted.
New passport printed on the 10th
Got a text to say delivery between 11-3pm Thursday 11th.
Less than a week from start to finish.
