Old Passport and covering arrived at Hemel Hampstead at 0704 on 22/8/2024
In the envelope containing the old passport, I submitted covering letter saying that my old passport had been cancelled in Hong Kong after I applied for an Emergency Travel Document. I gave date and time it had been cancelled and also the ETD number.

A very quick and easy process. Very impressed.
The old passport was delivered on the Friday morning, but didn’t appear on the HMPO tracking page until the Tuesday. However the tracking page warned there would be a delay after the courier (Royal Mail in this case) delivered it as the page has to be updated manually.
It surprised me that some of the tracking times were time-stamped as 1am /2am, and I got texts/emails round about those times too.
