I couldn’t believe how quick the normal service was. Submitted my application on Monday 27th March and sent my passport over the same day (Royal Mail next day by 1pm). They received my passport and approved application on Wednesday morning. Thursday morning my new passport was printed and I received it on Friday afternoon. 5 WORKING DAYS!!!
I tried to use the 1 week fast track service but there was no appointments. I’m so glad I couldn’t get one now.

Applied online and posted my old documents the same day with Royal Mail 1st Class signed for. Everything was smooth and even though I look quite different to my now 12 year old passport photo there was no issue and I didn’t need any additional identifiers/a person to confirm my identity. Was stressing about this since the announcement of the strikes but from application to arrival was exactly 1 week, easy as! Side note: thanks for this website, it’s a great resource and a wonderful stress reliever.

Renewal child passport. Sadly had to return to a second appointment (Newport) as French mother and needed marriage certificate but second appointment very good. Had to rebook departure but we’re delighted to receive passport in 3 days. Would recommend checking your application number on TNT tracking website as they only send a text on the day (8am till 8pm…) but it showed on previous day that it had been received and delivery day which allowed us to rebook ferry.
