I submitted renewal application on Sunday. I used special delivery to dispatch old passport on Monday but it took 2 days for delivery, due to a delay on Royal Mail’s part. The passport office turnaround was very quick. They logged receipt of my old passport on Wednesday, approved my application on Thursday, and printed my new passport on Friday. The courier delivered my new passport the following Monday, 8 days from my application submission and only 5 days from receipt of my old passport.

Applied online and sent documents same day even though on weekend. Originally wanted to pay extra for the 1 week or same day application as govt website said up to 10weeks! But I found this website that showed actual times and decided to go with online application. Thanks for your help. Was just as fast (due to limited appointment availability) and saved me money.

This is the first passport I’ve had since I was a child and, as I’m heading to university in September, I knew how critical it was to have this document. Everything was quicker than I imagined because when you read people’s experiences it can be mixed that can cast serious doubt in your mind – and it did. I feel lucky I’ve received it this quickly and I’m happy to say they did a fantastic job!
