Extremely quick. Submitted passport application late on a Thursday evening and sent my old passport straight away and it was acknowledged next day. Whole process has been 7 working days inclusive of delivery date. Used own picture but took time to ensure no shadow, etc. website application evaluated photo as good and likely to pass.
