process straight forward The photograph I took was only rated ‘fair’ by the online assessment .Reason ‘eyes were closed’.
They were not closed, just slightly less open at the sides. It was the same on my previous passport so I decided to submit it.
It was accepted without comment.
total process from submission to receipt of new passport was 10 working days. There were 3 weekends and 2 bank holidays during this period.

Old passport sent on 10th March and tracked as being delivered on 14th March. Passport Office sending emails on 30th March asking for me to return my old passport, so clearly sat in some sack somewhere for over 2 weeks. Finally scanned my old passport onto system on 4 April, so sat for 3 weeks before being processed! My phoning the Office to chase it up resulted in even more frustration as no two people told me the same information, quite the opposite in fact.
4th May, passport finally printed!
9th May…. RECEIVED!! Daughter-in-ĺaw sent her application and that of my two grandchildren, all first applications, at the same time to the same place, had her interview etc and received all three first passports by 30 April!! Shocking service.

I couldn’t believe how straightforward process was, despite my fear that I would screw up in some way. Once I got the passport pictures done in an approved passport location and had the code to put it online, it all felt very straightforward. All the notification emails/texts made everything very reassuring.

Passport wasn’t logged as received for 7 days , even though we had the tracking details and was signed for 14th April .
When contacting the helpline not helpful at all , no one seemed to know any information on any matter

Excellent experience in difficult times.
I decided to go straight for fast track despite having 8 weeks until our holiday for my baby’s first passport. This was the best decision I made.
3 week wait for appointment.
Appointment Tuesday 17th May 2pm.
Passport through door Sat 21st May 1pm.
Experience at the passport office was excellent. Very efficient, polite happy staff.
I honestly cannot fault the fast track service. Completely worth the money to save my stress levels.
