Mine was slightly longer than expected, but quick all the same.

I took my picture at home on an iPhone and submitted it online. It was approved, which I was extremely happy about.

I thought from previous reviews my passport may have arrived either Saturday or Monday, but was not the case. But either way, no complaints, as it took 1 week and 6 days from submitting my renewal, to receiving my new passport.

My old passport was sent with recorded delivery. I sent it on the 8th March. It was signed for on the 10th March and recorded on the system on March 13th.

Overall very easy and straightforward online, I couldn’t get a fast track appointment in London and took a gamble on standard application as I am due to travel the 29th of March. Luckily it paid off as a result of tracking passport waiting times, l called the passport office who were also great, but I would highly recommend doing fast track or one day if you want to relieve any stress on waiting for your renewal to come through as once it’s in the system it’s difficult to get back

Very easy once i had a photograph, which i did in a photobooth and got it emailed to me as a jpeg. I signed up for text message alerts which confirmed each stage of the process. Took less that two weeks from start to finish!

Exactly 2 weeks from start to end, and I had to resubmit the photo as the first one was not accepted. Initially, I used a Max Spielman machine to photograph my child, and the machine advised he passed biometric tests (on the 8th attempt). However, it was rejected. I then submitted a photo taken on a camera phone and it was accepted. Don’t bother spending £10 on a professional photo! I had to get someone else to confirm his identity, and it was not clear if this was because the first person was ineligible or if it was just because the first photo was rejected. I used someone else, and the photo was accepted. I was really impressed with the communication and process speed, although with the strikes coming up I imagine these may stall very soon!
